October 1999: The boat leaves Bear Island Boatworks

Spirit of Canada leaves the shop at Bear Island Boatworks for the last time. The hull and deck structure are now complete. She will be taken to Bowmanville Ontario to Wiggers Custom Yachts for finishing.

A crane sponsored by Capital City Crane Rentals is brought to the shop for the lift onto the flatbed.

Crane ready for the lift

The hull structure, weighting just 4350 lbs., is gently lifted out of the cradle and into the air. The cradle is then lifted onto the flatbed.

Spirit of Canada tied to the flatbed.

The trip to Bowmanville is generously provided by R.S. Coughlan Trucking of Fredericton, New Brunswick.
